Narity Reporterpreview

Compatibility

Check your Crystal Reports compatibility.

Reporter runs on .NET 10 and renders PDF. Use this guide to choose a data path and assess your reports.

Use the .NET 10 SDK or the self-contained desktop viewer. Render .rpt or JSON reports to PDF with saved data or supported data sources.

Runtime and deployment

Narity Reporter runs existing Crystal Reports files on modern .NET. Its clean-room implementation requires no SAP runtime or legacy Crystal Reports libraries.

Current Reporter requirements
SDK.NET 10 (net10.0). Earlier .NET targets can be provided on demand.
Operating systemsWindows, Linux, and macOS. Compare output on the operating system you will deploy.
Viewer downloadsWindows x64, Linux x64, and macOS ARM64. Use the viewer to inspect and validate your reports.
DependenciesThe SDK depends on PDFsharp. It needs no SAP runtime. Live database providers need their respective driver packages.
Input and outputCrystal Reports .rpt files or Reporter JSON definitions, rendered as PDF.
Application APIA simple .NET API that is easy to use and helps you migrate existing applications.

Reporter does not author Crystal report designs or implement the Crystal Server platform. Read the migration guide for integration steps.

Data sources

Choose a data path for your report
Saved rowsUse rows embedded in a report saved with data. A report without saved rows needs another data source.
PostgreSQLReporter.Db.Postgres with the Npgsql driver.
OracleReporter.Db.Oracle with Oracle.ManagedDataAccess.Core.
SQLiteReporter.Db.Sqlite with Microsoft.Data.Sqlite.
SQL CommandYour application executes the query and supplies rows. Match report field aliases and bind query parameters.
Other databasesAdditional database providers can be provided on demand.

Provider assemblies are in the libraries ZIP. Driver packages come from NuGet. See provider installation and SQL Command supplied rows.

Report features and current limitations

Reporter implements formulas, groups, subreports, running totals, conditional formatting, and pagination. Coverage does not guarantee identical output for every report.

As of October 7, 2026, these cases need particular attention:

  • Cross-tabs: binding and horizontal continuation support one row field, one column field, and one summary. More complex cross-tabs use decoded templates as fallback output.
  • Summaries in text: a summary Field renders its computed value. Summaries embedded in Text objects remain limited.
  • Charts: pie and bar charts have rendering support. Verify the chart types and layouts your reports use.
  • Formulas: some functions and scope combinations remain incomplete. Check calculated values and conditional output against Crystal.
  • Layout: group-number formatting, boxes spanning dynamic headers, and some text baselines remain under investigation.
  • Fonts: font availability and metrics can affect wrapping and pagination. You can supply legacy and proprietary fonts for better compatibility. Compare PDFs on your target operating system.

Report versions and features vary. Test representative files from your application before assuming compatibility across your report library.

Test your reports locally

Use the free report viewer to evaluate your reports’ compatibility. Open your .rpt files, inspect the output, and compare exported PDFs with your Crystal Reports output.

We offer consulting services and can work with you to achieve the output accuracy you require.

Sign in, start the 30-day evaluation, and download the SDK. The account's NuGet package includes your licence.

Follow the complete quickstart, then render your own report with saved data. Compare it with a Crystal PDF from the same input.

The online demo uses saved data and produces a watermarked preview. Use the local SDK for live database integration.
